    Beautiful, modern choice

    Posted by 27107902 on Jan 17th 2018

Fun fact -- the metal tacks along the edges? They can be removed! Removing them makes the couch look 100x better. It takes it from looking a little gaudy, to clean, simple, and beautiful. With the tacks gone, it looks like something that you would pay $3,500 or more to buy from some place like Williams Sonoma or Crate & Barrel. It's an amazing and simple upgrade to remove the metal tacks. You'll want to be careful doing it. But the good news is the metal tacks are not structural, they are just for decoration only. The 1st thing I did after unboxing the couch was to remove them, and I'm so glad I did. The metal tacks just hold down a thin strip of material. You can see in my photos that this strip of fabric along the edges is a little wrinkled and has some impressions left from the tracks after I removed them. We plan on soaking this strip in warm water to relax the fabric's threads, then ironing and reattaching it to the couch. Current candidates to reattach the strip are fabric glue or possibly just some double side tape.
